In life I am a spiritual warrior. Over time I’ve become a warrior to the fragments of trauma, distress, pain, shame, manipulation, sadness, anxiety, fear, and regret that shape my very human existence. I ran from those pieces. I hid their existence so well but felt as if those shards of life were being worn on my chest as a badge of execution and rejection from my engagement to the warm loving world that I knew was existing without me. Nobody knew I was hurt, including myself. I denied myself from the ever flowing love, light and beauty that saves us. Eventually I was consumed by my shadow. All that was left was the layer of hope that just barely held my soul together. The hope that is so much bigger than ourselves. I had surrendered to my darkness and I was saved. Surrendered.

As I step into warrior in yoga, I am prompted. I stand there with an open heart to receive the abundance of love. I am aware of my darkness and my light. They only exist with each other.
